"The Outcasts of Poker Flat"

If you had to blame someone or something for the outcasts' death, who/what would you blame & why? [[pick one only]]
  • Uncle Billy
  • Citizens Of Poker Flat
  • Bad Luck
  • Outcasts

If i had to blame someone or something for the outcasts' death i would blame bad luck. I would blame bad luck because if they wouldn't have ran away this wouldnt have happend. If they wouldnt have stayed over night they wouldnt have been snowed in. they wouldnt have been having problems with food, and the weather. if wouldnt have stayed they wouldnt have to sent tom for help and they wouldnt have died. piney wouldnt have died because of all the snow and wind that came into the hut. this is why i would have blamed babd luck for the deaths of the outcasts'

Flowers For Algernon

If you were given a choice to have an operation that would make you much smarter, would you do it, especially if you knew that the effects of the surgery would only be temporary? why or why not? Use examples from the story.

If i was given a choice to have an operation that would make me much smarter i would have rejected the operation specially if i knew that the side effects of the operation were only going to be temporary. i would have rejected the operation because i wouldn't want to be a lot smarter than i am and then get it taken away and be back to normal, in my opinion everything will change because the friends i have and all the people who i talk to will also change when i got the operation done. Of course if i did get the operation i would know more people and talk to more too but i will also lose friends, and by the time when everything goes back to normal the friends i used to have wouldn't really talk to me since they stopped talking to me before, and the people who i started talking to wouldn't talk to me either since i wouldn't be as smart as i was, Just like what happened to charlie... he started to talk to people when he was as smart as a genius, but when he went back to normal all the people who he claimed to be his friends were just laughing at him. this is why i would reject the operation. i rather be myself just the way i am normally

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Chapter 8- The End

FAMILY, AGE, BEAUTY --> explain what this story says about each of these issues. Use examples from the story to support your explanations.

FAMILY--> This story says that FAMILY is not always going to be there to support you, and at times your FAMILY wont even have the pleasure of you being with them. That at times they will feel embarrassed to be seen with you. In the book it states "when visitors are in the house I want you to call me 'Uncle'--not 'Roscoe,' but 'Uncle,' do you understand? said Roscoe, with this sentence you will see that the son wants his dad to kall him uncle and not Roscoe...his real name. To my opinion this book is trying to say that your FAMILY wont alwaqys be there for you.

AGE--> This story is like trying to say that AGE is not just a number. That AGE really does matter in life. That if you dont look like your age everyone will look and think that you are very strange.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Chapters 3-7

After reading Chapters 3-7, predict three problems you think Benjamin will encounter & give your solutions for each.

I think that benjamin will encounter the following problems. One of the problems he might encounter is that he is going to get tired of his wife and he will want to leave her with with son, and go live the rest of his life alone, I think that he should try to talk to his wife about what is really happening to him and tell her everything and make her listen to him first. Another problem that i think benjamin will encounter is that he is going to lose alot of his knowledge so he really wont know what to do at all over the time, i think he should try to contact people who knew about him since he was born to talk to his wife telling her everything about him so that she can believe him and she will know that at a time she's going to take care of him, since we wont be able to take care of himself. I think that benjamin will also encounter the promblem of being accused of being crazy, I think that benjamin should go to a therapist who will actually listen to him because... the way things are looking he cant really be with his wife since she think he's crazy.

The curious case of Benjamin Button, chapter 2

Roger is so overly concerned with how Benjamin looks & is worried about what people are going to say. What Should he do ?

I think that Roger should stop talking to his son the way he is.I just think that he should just deal with it. After all Benjamin is still their son and he will always be, Roger should atleast thank god that he has a son, unlike to other how want to have one but can't have one. Roger should think about it for some time and see the bright side of it and not the dark side.

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Chapter 1

Question: What would you have done if you were Roger Button in Chapter 1?

If I was Roger Button in the first chapter, I would have been freaked out that my first child was born as a seventy year old man. This old man was my son, and he was older than me... I would so freak out. I would've probably ran out of the room where the old man was at. I would've ran to my wife and as her if it was true that he was our baby. And if it was I would have probably ran out of the hospital and stay home for a while to clear things up, Then I'll probably go back to the hospital and go on knowing that he was my son and that I would have to deal with it.

The Night He Left

As I get closer to my cousin, he looked so pale
I ran to him as my mood is scared
He talked to everyone in one single voice
Saying he will always be there
I looked at him as if I didn't know he was in pain
And asked him are you sure your OK?
He took a deep breath
“please let me see my” dad he said
As my uncle came in, I told him “come quick”
I ran to Sergio helped him up and walked him to his dad
He fell upon him saying, I'm gone
We looked at him,With tears
and our eyes full of fear
He just said “please don’t cry and be Strong tonight”
“once I said I’ll die at night”
And I truly wish it wasn't this time
I looked at him, cried my eyes out
They he laid back
As his soul went away .
